Slowly, but surely – that’s how we can described the presence of Nokia Android handsets in the competitive smartphone market. From initially banking only on nostalgia of the brand, people across the globe are starting to feel the resurgence of Nokia thanks to the efforts of HMD Global. 2017 was indeed a challenging year for the promotion of the new Nokia phone series, but based on data leaked by one of the bright minds from an international analysis firm, the year ended with great sales for our trusted mobile phone brand.
Neil Shah, Research Director at Counterpoint Research, shared this in Twitter yesterday:
Being number 11 in the spot for the best selling brand is not bad at all, but wait until you see which companies where outshone by Nokia and HMD Global. in Q4 2017 Let’s find out who they are in Shah’s other tweet:
The comeback is really happening now. From being a underdog in the smartphone sales battle, Nokia is finally emerging out of the ashes of yesterday as it outsold popular phones from Sony, Google, Lenovo, and Asus. And with 2018 just getting started and the Mobile World Congress fastly approaching, who knows what great surprises are hidden behind the sleeves of our beloved smartphone brand! Can’t wait to see it really soon!
