HMD Global finally filled the gap between their sleek affordable midrange and classy high-end handsets with the release of the Nokia 7. Officially revealed two weeks ago in China, the Nokia 7 offers most of the amazing features that can be found in the Nokia 8 but with a cheaper price tag. This gives more consumers a chance to have a high-end smartphone experience right at their fingertips without breaking their wallets. But what exactly are we expecting from the Nokia 7? Let’s find out from the interesting facts below.
STRONGER PHONE BODY WITH 7000 SERIES ALUMINUM
The Nokia 7 is the first Nokia-branded smartphone to be created with 7000 series aluminum chassis. We did some research about the difference of the said aluminum alloys from the 6000 series (used on Nokia 5 and 6) and found out that the 7000 series can reach higher strengths when undergoing heat treatment technique called precipitation hardening). Don’t get us wrong on this – Nokia smartphones made from 6000 series aluminum are really durable (check out our previous article on durability tests HERE), but we expect the Nokia 7 to be way more “indestructible” than its brothers, as the old Nokia meme says.
STUNNING LOOK WITH GORILLA GLASS
To reinforce the durability of the Nokia 7, the back of the smartphone is covered with a thermally formed, vacuum molded Corning Gorilla Glass 3 front and back give it a smooth, flawless feel. Based on the images posted on the Chinese Nokia site, using Gorilla Glass as a material not only protects the phone from scratches, but also gave the Nokia 7 a more sophisticated and premium look that can surely stand out when lined up with other Android smartphones.
MORE POWERFUL WITH SNAPDRAGON 630 PROCESSOR
One of the major letdowns expressed by consumers about the Nokia 6 is the use of Snapdragon 430 in such a beautiful smartphone. While the handset still performed well with almost no lags or stutters, many of us feel that the Nokia 6 deserved a better processor. In response to this, the Nokia 7 was launched with a more powerful Snapdragon 630 processor. Combined with 3,000 mAh battery, it is expected that the Nokia 7 can withstand longer hours of usage, particularly with music and video playback.
GREAT IMAGES WITH ZEISS OPTICS AND DUAL SIGHT
The Nokia 7 sports a 16-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. Just like with the Nokia 8, these cameras have Zeiss imaging technology inside to ensure higher quality images in various lighting conditions, even in low-light. Just like the Nokia 8, the Nokia 7 features the amazing Dual-Sight technology that enables consumers to create Bothie images. This allows simultaneous capture of video and photos to show the best sides of life stories!
EXCELLENT AUDIO AND VIDEO RECORDING TECHNOLOGY
With Nokia 7’s Nokia OZO technology and 4K video recording capability, video recording and sharing will never be the same again. We’ve seen how these technologies worked with the Nokia 8 when we used it to cover its own launch event last September, so expect that the experience with the Nokia 7 will be just as awesome – whether keeping it on your own or sharing it via Facebook, Instagram, or other social sites.
Stay tuned as we look out for the possible launch of the Nokia 7 here in the Philippines soon.
