Rumors spreading about a new Nokia phone powered by a Snapdragon 710 are making the rounds before. Early rumors about this device said it was called the Nokia Phoenix and was expected to be released in late 2018.

FIH Mobile is HMD Global’s partner in manufacturing Nokia phones. A twitter user named Hikari Calyx managed to find the upcoming Nokia device in FIH’s server data. Codenames PNX and “Phoenix” was found in the database as seen on his tweet below.

In his follow-up tweet, he found something in the metadata which confirms that it is indeed a Nokia device. From the metadata, it seems like the Nokia Phoenix will be a China exclusive (first), and will go global soon after.

The Nokia Phoenix, powered by the Snapdragon 710, might be an upgraded version of the Nokia 7 Plus. Rumors has it that the Nokia Phoenix is the Nokia X7 in development. Just like the recent Nokia “X” phones, the Nokia Phoenix may also have dual rear cameras, a glass body, and a notch. The phone may also ship with Android 8.1 Oreo when it launches.

Details mentioned above are just speculations and may be incorrect. But we do look forward to the launch of the device.
