The new Nokia devices are set to fly this month, as we reported few days ago. Nokia 2.1, 3.1 and 5.1 are the successors to the first wave of phones released in 2017. These devices bring better design and more powerful internals. The 5.1 and 3.1 will be launched with Android One and the latter will have the Android Go platform.
India, being one of Nokia’s key markets, will take the lead of launching these great new devices this month. Nokia ranked 5th in Q4 garnering 6% of the market share in just one year. It will be an advantage for the brand to keep up with the momentum and start ranging the new devices.
India will be one of the select countries to range the new devices including the Nokia 5.1. The Nokia 5.1, 3.1 and 2.1 were listed on a global pricing of 220 USD (Rs 15,000) 160 USD (Rs 11,000) and 115 USD (Rs 7, 900), respectively. This is only a direct conversion not a an official pricing. We will keep you posted.
Like last year’s Nokia 5, this device is milled out of series 6000 aluminum. It offers 18:9 FHD+ form factor which makes 5.5-inch display easier to hold compare to its predecessor. The 5.1 is now powered by MediaTek Helio P18 chipset. This offers 40% more performance over last year’s Snapdragon 430.
Other features include, 2GB of RAM with 16GB of storage, or 3GB of RAM with 32GB of storage, microSD slot, 8MP front shooter, FM radio, and 2970mAh battery.
The Nokia 3.1 enjoys a 5.2-inch HD+ display and powered by the 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6750 chipset. This new chipset offers 50% boost in performance from its predecessor. The design sees an aluminum mid-frame with chamfered edges and polycarbonate back, This creates a slimmer and sexier look.
Other specs include 2GB/3GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB of internal storage, microSD slot, 13MP camera, 8MP front camera, and a 2990mAh battery. The new Nokia 3 will be sold in three color options — Blue/Copper, Black/Chrome, and White/Iron.
The Nokia 2.1 is powered by Snapdragon 425, which offers four Cortex A53 cores clocked up to 1.4GHz. The battery on this device delivers 50% more compared to last year’s Nokia 2. It has a decent 16:9 5.5-inch 720p display and polycarbonate design. One of the top key selling point of the new Nokia 2 is the 4000mAh battery, which delivers 2-day battery life in a single charge. Under the hood, is the Android Go Oreo operating system.
You will get 1GB of RAM along with 8GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, 8MP camera, 5MP front shooter, and Bluetooth 4.2. The most interesting part is its front-firing dual stereo speakers.
