July security update is now available for Nokia Android smartphones!

Highly committed to their products and customers, HMD Global promises a pure, secure, and up-to-date Nokia smartphones for everyone to enjoy. The updates are good for your phone as it delivers bug fixes and security enhancements to keep you away from threats and viruses.

After the Nokia 5 and Nokia 6, the July security update has finally arrived to Nokia 7 Plus, 6.1, and the Nokia 8 in certain markets. It also fixes the dual LTE function on the Noka 7 Plus. It enables the second SIM slot to receive LTE signal. Updates are delivered by country-by-country basis so you might have to wait when it will arrive to your device. Here are the list of markets receiving the update:

  • India
  • Philippines
  • Netherlands
  • Syria

How to get the update?

Your phone will automatically notify you when an update is available. But you can also manually check for updates by going to Settings > About phone > System updates > Check for update.

If an update is available, make sure that you have enough internal storage on your phone. Also make sure you have enough battery life as it requires 40% of battery in order to install the updates. Downloading the update via Wi-Fi is highly recommended as it may use up a lot of data by downloading via cellular data.
