Nokia is one of the most loved brands that has gone through ups and downs. Struggling to compete in the market during its Windows Phone days, HMD Global revived the brand to make Nokia known again. And luckily, they succeeded to make Nokia relevant in the digital world again in our present time.
There are news going around that Huawei overtakes Apple as the second largest smartphone vendor in the mobile market. Apart from that, HMD Global/Nokia Mobile has also done a good job of getting into the top 10 group of smartphone manufacturers globally in Q2 2018.

In a Q2 2018 report by Counterpoint Research, they stated that HMD shipped 4.5 million smartphone units. Capturing about 1% of the market, HMD was placed in Top 9 of smartphone manufacturers globally.
Neil Shah ( Counterpoint’s Analyst ) shared the exciting news on Twitter, saying HMD’s performance as “an important milestone”. He also stated that HMD and their manufacturing partner Foxconn FIH needs to work really hard to scale fast to grow beyond Europe, Asia and Africa.

Being excited about the news, HMD Global’s CPO Juho Sarvikas retwetted the tweet above. He thanked the fans and customers who stayed with the brand and said that there are still a lot of work that remains ahead.
