Launched in 2017, the Nokia 8 is Nokia’s first flagship phone. Designed with durability in mind, the phone received a lot of positive reactions from Nokia fans. It is also the first Nokia Android phone with Zeiss lenses which a lot of fans have been asking for. Nokia 8 just got even better in 2018 with Android 8.1, a Pro Camera for photography lovers, and finally ARCore support.

We previously reported about HMD Global’s confirmation on the Nokia 8 getting ARCore support. Juho Sarvikas posted on Twitter back in June that the device will get the feature “soon”. Barely two months after that announcement and we are glad to confirm that the said feature is now available for the device.

Downloading the ARCore app on the Play Store using your Nokia 8 will now install successfully on your phone. If you want to use ARCore features, you must install the app as it is a mandatory app for ARCore enabled android devices. Click on the button below to download the app.

ARCore by Google

We have also checked on Google’s official list of ARCore enabled devices, and we are glad to see that the Nokia 8 is now a part of the list along with other Nokia phones. We find it odd, however, that the Nokia 6.1 Plus is taken out from the list. Looking back, the Nokia 6.1 Plus is included in that list as we have reported months ago.
